Training & Registration Policies

OUR APPROACH

Why These Policies Exist

Applied Response Training is built around small, hands-on classes where instructor time, training equipment, available seats, and often classroom space are committed in advance.

We understand that schedules change and unexpected situations happen. Our goal is to handle those situations reasonably while also recognizing the commitments that are made once a class is scheduled.

We believe being transparent about those expectations before registration is the fairest approach for everyone.

MINIMUM ENROLLMENT

Some Classes Must Reach a Minimum Enrollment

Public classes may require a minimum number of registered participants before the class is confirmed to run.

Applied Response Training keeps class sizes manageable to support hands-on instruction, coaching, and meaningful practice. For many scheduled classes, we also reserve training space, prepare equipment, and commit instructor time specifically for that session.

Because those arrangements create real commitments before class begins, the applicable minimum enrollment will be shown during registration whenever one applies.

We will not wait until the last minute to make that decision.

Unless otherwise stated for a specific class, we will determine whether minimum enrollment has been reached far enough in advance to reduce unnecessary disruption for registered participants.

If Applied Response Training cancels a class because minimum enrollment has not been reached, registered participants may choose either a full refund to the original payment method or transfer their registration to another available class at no additional charge.

REGISTRATION & PAYMENT

When Your Seat Is Reserved

A registration is considered confirmed once any required payment has been successfully completed and Applied Response Training has accepted the registration for the selected class.

Class capacity may be limited based on instructional requirements, available equipment, facility limitations, or other operational considerations.

Participants are responsible for providing accurate contact information during registration so class updates, online learning instructions, and certification-related information can be delivered correctly.

STUDENT CANCELLATIONS

When Plans Change

We understand that work schedules, family responsibilities, illness, and other unexpected situations can interfere with even well-planned commitments.

48+ HOURS

Refund or Transfer

If Applied Response Training is contacted at least 48 hours before the scheduled class, the participant may request a full refund or transfer the registration to another available class.

UNDER 48 HOURS

Transfer Instead of Refund

When less than 48 hours’ notice is provided, a refund is generally not available because training space, instructor time, equipment, and the participant’s seat have already been committed.

One transfer to another available class may be permitted when we are contacted before the originally scheduled class begins.

NO-SHOW

No Prior Contact

If a participant does not attend and we are not contacted before the scheduled class begins, the registration fee is generally forfeited and a transfer is not guaranteed.

Unexpected circumstances happen.

Exceptional situations may be reviewed individually at our discretion. These policies are intended to provide reasonable expectations, not prevent us from using good judgment when unusual circumstances occur.

TRANSFERS & RESCHEDULING

Moving to Another Class

When a transfer is approved, the registration may generally be moved once to another available class within six months of the originally scheduled class date.

Transfers are subject to class availability. If the replacement course has a higher registration fee, the participant is responsible for the difference.

Additional transfers or circumstances outside these guidelines may be reviewed individually.

BLENDED LEARNING

Online Work Must Be Completed Before Class

Some courses include required online learning before the instructor-led session.

The classroom portion is designed to build on concepts introduced online and may not provide enough time to repeat the complete online curriculum.

Participants who have not completed required online coursework before class may be unable to participate fully or successfully complete the course.

If your course requires proof of online completion, online submission before class is preferred because it allows us to verify completion in advance and helps make check-in easier on the day of training.

You may also print your completion documentation and bring a copy with you to the instructor-led session. A printed copy is acceptable when online submission is not convenient.

Submit Online Course Completion →

When appropriate, we may allow the participant to transfer once to another available session rather than forfeiting the registration.

ARRIVAL & ATTENDANCE

Please Be Ready When Class Begins

Participants should arrive early enough to check in and be ready when instruction begins.

Certification courses may require completion of specific instructional content, skills practice, and assessment activities. A participant who arrives after required material has been missed may be unable to successfully complete the course.

We will use reasonable instructor judgment rather than an arbitrary minute-by-minute cutoff. When completion is no longer practical because of late arrival, a transfer may be considered instead of a refund.

COURSE COMPLETION

Registration Does Not Guarantee Certification

Certification is awarded after successful completion of the applicable course requirements.

Depending on the course, requirements may include completion of assigned online learning, participation in instructor-led instruction, demonstration of required skills, skills assessments, knowledge assessments, or other course-specific requirements.

Participants are provided instruction, practice, feedback, and appropriate opportunities to demonstrate required skills during the course.

IF WE CANCEL A CLASS

We Will Make It Right

If Applied Response Training cancels a class, registered participants will not be expected to absorb the registration cost.

Participants may choose either:

Full Refund Returned to the original payment method.
Free Transfer Move the registration to another available class at no additional charge.

A confirmed class may occasionally need to be canceled or rescheduled because of instructor illness, severe weather, facility problems, safety concerns, equipment issues, or other circumstances that prevent the course from being conducted as scheduled.

Applied Response Training is not responsible for indirect expenses such as lost wages, travel costs, lodging, childcare, or other personal expenses related to attendance.

WEATHER & TRAVEL CONDITIONS

Safety Comes First

We will make weather-related class decisions based on conditions affecting the scheduled training location and the ability to conduct the course safely.

If Applied Response Training cancels the class because of weather or unsafe conditions, participants may choose a full refund or transfer.

If the class is held but an individual participant reasonably cannot travel because of conditions affecting their route or location, we will generally work with the participant on a transfer to another available class.

PARTICIPATION & ACCESSIBILITY

Hands-On Training Should Be Approachable

Many Applied Response Training courses include physical skills practice and assessment.

Participants who have a disability, medical limitation, accessibility concern, or other need that may affect participation are encouraged to contact us before class so available options can be discussed.

LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

Respectful & Safe Participation

Applied Response Training is committed to providing a respectful, safe, and productive learning environment.

Disruptive, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, unsafe, or intentionally obstructive conduct may result in removal from training.

Participants who appear impaired by alcohol, drugs, or another condition that prevents safe participation may also be removed from the course.

A participant removed because of their own conduct or unsafe behavior is not generally eligible for a refund.

PHOTOGRAPHY & RECORDING

Respecting Participant Privacy

Participants may not photograph or record instructors or other participants without permission.

Applied Response Training may occasionally photograph or record training for business, educational, or promotional purposes only when appropriate permission has been obtained.

REFUND PROCESSING

How Approved Refunds Are Returned

Approved refunds will generally be returned to the original payment method.

Processing time after we issue a refund may vary depending on the financial institution or payment provider involved.
